Real life is not this funny

Did you ever see the Friends episode where Phoebe decides she will be a surrogate mother for her brother and his wife??? Remember how she used to tell people "I'm having my brother's baby"? This made for great comedy, but in real life, this is not funny. It's kind of gross. Unless of course you're really doing your brother a favor cause he and his wife CAN NOT have kids.

Here's what I mean.

A certain family member of mine, I believe, is straight. She likes boys, however she's going through a "phase" where she has been in love with a girl (We'll call her Girl) for about 2 years. She swears she is not gay, but refers to her status as a (Insert girls name here)-bian. for example: a girl who is straight but currently dating a girl named Michelle might be a "Michelle-bian". Personally, I don't get it (If it walks like a duck...) but whatever. Well this certain Girl does is not in love with my family member in return and has strung her along for the last 2 years, but my desperate family member can not get over her. So what does she do???

She decided she wants to get pregnant with Girl's child!!! She wants Girl to donate an egg to inseminate her with.

Number 1. Are you aware what it takes to donate eggs? I am, I researched it. First the doctors put you on months of hormones so that instead of each ovary producing 1 egg every other month, both ovaries produce 1-2 eggs every month. (can you imagine the PMS?) Next it's not like donating sperm where you pee out your eggs, they have to be retrieved surgically!

Number 2. Did we mention where the sperm would come from? Well my cousin wants a baby with Girl, so she needs Genes from Girl, and Genes from herself, only she doesn't have sperm, so where does she get "her genes" from? OH SHE ASKED HER BROTHER TO DONATE!!!

Are you kidding me? This is my family. How is it that my parents produced the only normal children on that side of the tree????

Buffy

Today, since Evan and I are both not feeling well (that darn flu that's going around), we decided to hang out on the couch and watch a movie. Which movie? you ask? 1997's Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

If you haven't seen this since you were in elementary school (like us) I highly recommend it. There's so much we didn't catch, and we found ourselves chuckling through most of it.
Plus, Luke Perry is a total bonus.

I'm Just Not That Into You

Tonight I saw the movie "He's Just Not That Into You". I read the book when it first came out, and was extremely entertained. Not in the typical "self help" goal-of-the-book kind of way, but in the same way I was entertained reading the "Why Me" section of Teen Magazine when I was 12.

ICK! This is really the only word that comes to mind when asked my opinion about the movie. I was literally pissed off most of the time at how utterly PATHETIC these girls are. The worst part is that I know so many AMAZING girls that act/think the same way.

The "main" character, for example, spends the entire movie trying to find a boyfriend. Whether or not she even likes him doesn't seem to matter, all she cares about is finding a guy. She resorts to obsessive, stalker like behavior, wonders why she's single and gets her feelings hurts when someone actually tells it to her straight. Seriously?

The only applaud able character is the woman who divorces her cheating husband. Granted she still nicely folds and organizes his clothes rather than throw them out on the sidewalk (which is what I would have done).

I just don't understand why women today base their entire sense of self worth on whether or not a man is interested in them. I have so many great friends who do this and it frustrates me to no end. They don't care who they are dating, they don't even like the guy most of the time, and move from one guy to the next, because they always HAVE TO HAVE A GUY. It's disgusting.

And what's with girls and getting married? It's like they sit around sulking that they aren't married, because they just know they'll be happy once some schmuck puts a ring on her finger. Is a big white dress and a diamond magically going to boost their self esteem, make their career, education, and family goals fall right into place? Again, Seriously?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for dating. It's obviously how you eventually meet and marry someone. But men, please note: Crazy, Needy, Slutty, Obnoxious behavior is not displayed by every woman. But for those ladies who act this way, stop, please. It gives all of us a bad reputation.

I have dated a lot, I have been single and in a couple. I have learned that a key principle often overlooked in relationships is that you have to be happy single (all by yourself) before you can be happy with someone else. How can you make someone happy if you're miserable? I like having boyfriends, but I don't NEED one. I can change a tire, the light bulb, and even open the mayonnaise jar all by myself. I happen to love that about me. I also don't want to get married. But it's because I haven't yet found anyone I'd actually like being married to.

I can't really say more on the topic other than this. Bottom line: Girls stop being desperate, they're making movies about you.

It's Been Awhile

It's been awhile... But I have a good excuse... I went to turn on my computer about a week ago, and as usual it asked me to log in.. and then... NOTHING.

My sunny Figi vacation backdrop appeared, but nothing else, no start up bar, no desktop icons, nothing! Seriously? Hmm... So I shut down and try again... Nothing.

"I am Morgan's intense frustration!"

SO... What to do? I recently all but drained my savings account on car repairs, and I wasn't willing to dip into my photography account to pay for repairs or a new computer. Luckily my tax return is about 4x larger than I was expecting so in 8 days I will be the proud new owner of a brand new HP-PC!!!!

I'm thrilled!

Disclaimer: If you have photos on order or have recently had a session with me, not to worry, I backup everything to my External Hard drive, jump-disks, and CDRW's! Your pictures are safe. Also all estimated delivery dates will remain the same, I'm just going to be one very busy bee for the next few weeks!
