Butt Face

You know the old saying, "What's good for the goose is good for the gander?"
This saying does not apply to butt wipes (baby wipes if you prefer).

Since school is done for the semester, I have plenty of time for my favorite pasttime...
Playing beautician!  I get to change my nail polish 2-3 times a week (instead of once every 2 weeks), create fun new hair styles, and play with my ever-growing makeup collection.

Last night I was playing with my new eyeshadow palatte from Coastal Scents.  One of my favorite beauty bloggers is holding a contest to win some Makeup goodies and the theme is "Your Favorite Disney Character."

I have lots of favorites, but last night I decided to dedicate one eye to a Tinkerbell look {she's not my favorite, but I wanted to play with greens}, and the other eye to an Arabic Jasmine look.  I've collected makeup for a lot of years, but usually I just wear neutrals or browns everyday.  This was my first time experiamenting with color, and I have to be honest, it is so much fun.

Anyway, I ran out of eye makeup remover and so I reached for butt wipes.  They worked really well.  One swipe and everything but the eyeliner came off!  Well, about three this morning I woke up because my eyes were stinging.  I went to rinse them in the bathroom, and when I looked in the mirror, I looked horrible!  Remember in Hitch when he has the allergic reaction to shellfish, or when Bear Grylls gets stung in the eye by a bee???  Yes, I looked very similar!

My eyelids were not only swollen but raw and red... like the first few layers of skin had been removed... It felt like I had bumps on the insides touching my eyeball {gross}, and they would not stop watering.  It has been 24 hours and my eyes are still irritated!  Bottom line, I'm allergic to something in the wipes.  While I use them all the time on my hands and other places, the face is, from now on, off limits!

  1. You poor girl! I would avoid all the products you used on your eyes until they are completely healed. Then start using them one at a time and watch for a reaction. The eyelids are the thinnest and most delicate skin on your body and they will be the first to show a reaction if you are allergic or sensitive to a product, even if you have used them countless times... a reaction can happen out of the blue.
I bet they are still ok for the rest of your body (the wipes). Another place that gets irritated easily is your neck.
I hope you are feeling better. What a terrible way to discover an irritant.
    Cheers~Ivy

  2. oh. my. gosh. That's all I can say. This has happened to me a few times (I'm allergic to everything skin related it seems ha ha) so I totally know how it is--and I am SOOO sorry!!!!! Also, I love playing with make-up colors. I feel like I'm 13 when I do it sometimes ha ha But it's still really fun. That's one thing I miss about being in cosmetology school. You could play around with make-up and hairstyles and be CRAZY, and everyone would think you look really good ha ha
