Friend Friday: Beauty Products

What a gorgeous day!  I took full advantage of all of my breaks at work and played outside as much as I could.  That's why these pictures turned out so well, it was the pretty sunlight (and my awesome P.I.C.'s picture taking skills).  I also love this outfit; especially the polka dot shirt.  I L♥VE polka dots.  Originally  I had my skinny jeans rolled up with some wedge ankle booties on, and a bright green cardigan.  After my brain reminded me that it's Friday and my feet don't want to wear heels, I opted for the boots.  And the white cardigan instead of the green... it's more... me.

I have another post for Fashion & Beauty Friend Friday!  It's been for.ev.er. since I talked about make up on this little bloggy-blog.  Since my makeup stash began overflowing a few months ago, and now takes up more space than I have available, I grounded myself from buying anything new for a few months.  No set number, just "a few."  That way I don't have to commit to a certain length, and let myself down when I cheat/fail...  Since I don't have anything new, I've kind of lost interest...  Yes, I am that kid who only plays with new toys.  {*hangs head, embarrassed by the snobbery*} I'm working on it.  Now, on with FBFF...

1. What's your favorite drug store makeup product and your favorite higher-end product?
Drugstore:  NYX lip glosses, blushes and eyeshadow singles.  If you don't have these, go buy some... now.  Everything in the line is under $7.00 and the color payoff and quality compares to a lot of higher end makeup I have (like MAC and NARS).  I love this stuff.

High End:  My favorite is still MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural.  This little mineral powder is awesome!  I can use it over top of foundation to set everything, or use it on its own as a foundation on those days when I decided to sleep in until 8:15 (gotta be at work by 8:30!).  It lasts forever too; so the number of uses vs. the cost is really worth it.  My only complaint is that I have to mix 2 colors because the one that "matches" my skin makes me look pink...

2. Is there one type of product that is your go-to, can't live without?
I couldn't live without Concealer.  I have dark circles under my eyes, and I kind of look like a corpse.  I sometimes feel bad for the guy I marry, because when he wakes up in the middle of the night, just one look at my un-made-up mug, and he'll have nightmares.  I also breakout a lot, so concealer helps hide that nastiness.

3. What's the best hair product you've ever used?
Big Sexy Hair products.  I've used them since High School.  I've said it numerous times, I L♥VE big hair, but with super fine limp hair, it's difficult to achieve with out the Root Pump Plus and the Spray and Play Harder.

4. Fess up, what's the worst beauty look you've tried to rock and look back at now with a little shame or apprehension that you actually did that?
Apart from the lipstick fiasco previously mentioned, I did rock silver/white eyeliner for an entire year when I was Sophomore in high school.  I don't know what I was thinking, but all my friends did it.  We looked like aliens.

5. When it comes to beauty products, we all use the same basic products. What do you use that helps show off your personal flare and personality?
I always have bright pink lips.  If anyone were to look in my lippie drawers I would be a little embarrassed by all the pink colors that look "exactly alike" to the untrained eye.  Nude lips and pale pink is the norm, and red is what I often see in the blogging world, but I'm all about hot pink.  It makes me happy.

  3. @No Longer Newlyweds.
Bobbi Brown Corrector! It is a pretty penny, but I have tons of $5- $10 ones that don't do crap. Under my eyes, I also follow it up with Benefit's Powderflage.
